At the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron, there was the mid-credit scene showing the Mad Titan himself opening his vault to get out the Infinity Guantlet. One of the recurring themes throughout the movies is that the Infinity Gems have been scattered throughout the universe and Thanos is on a mission to retrieve them all for his own purposes.

In that clip, he states that he’s going to do it himself. I sincerely doubt that he is going to retrieve them all personally, which is why he’s going to need a special forces of evil in order to retrieve the gems on Earth. In the comics, Thanos employed an elite group of killers sent to Earth to retrieve the Infinity Gems from the Illuminati. He called this group The Black Order.

Created by Jonathan Hickman, Jerome Opena and Jim Cheung, The Black Order is led by Corvus Glaive and his wife Proxima Midnight. They are joined by Black Dwarf, Supergiant and Ebony Maw. All notorious killers who conquer new worlds for Thanos and force the inhabitants to pay tribute.

While many people have been following the production of Infinity War as the actors converge in Atlanta for filming, it looks like the second unit filming in Edinburgh, Scotland is giving us our first look at one of the members of The Black Order: Corvus Glaive. While no one has confirmed this information as of the publishing of this article, an intrepid Twitter user named Richard Riddell has gotten some pics and footage of a stunt performer in a mo-cap suit playing the character.

The weapon in the picture is similar to the one that Glaive wields in the comic books.

Additionally it looks like we know who will face this particular member of the Black Order as set photos show Paul Bettany’s stunt double suited up as Vision and this shot of Elizabeth Olson’s Scarlet Witch getting into the action as well. Could this mission between the two of them lead to something more?

Plot details are not forthcoming anytime soon, which is a good thing. This allows fans to speculate about any piece of news that comes out of the production. Could the appearance of The Black Order be what brings the Guardians of the Galaxy to Earth? In one of the storylines in the comics, Hela works with Thanos at one point for their mutual advancement. Could Thanos have freed Hela because Thor was getting too close?
