The Rundown: An ancient civilization will discover the power of the Green Door.

A village leader brings a young man to the edge of a pit holding an object of great power. After telling the young man, Tammuz, that he knows his son plans to run off with him, he decides to sacrifice him to the object to save his dying village after the water goes bad and the animals flee the area. It is an act that brings Tammuz into contact with the Green Door and the entity living behind it.

After the elder returns and confronts his son, they are told of a creature rampaging through the area. A creature that could be captured and used to feed the starving villagers. After taking the creature down, the village feasts, but they find out quickly both who and what they have consumed.

The Story: This is an interesting story that has some really dark moments throughout it. The dialogue is great and the tone of the story is perfect throughout. It gives some really interesting dimensions to the Hulk story and I enjoyed how the story unfolded. There were elements that I didn’t connect with, but it was still a good read for what it was trying to accomplish.

The Art: Juan Ferreyra delivers some beautiful art throughout this issue. There is a great sense of atmosphere throughout the imagery and I was impressed with the tone and style of the art.
