The Rundown: Batman finds himself in the middle of a deadly battle with two separate enemies.

Jace reflects on his current relationship with Lucius Fox. Elsewhere, Tanya Fox is having a conversation with her new client when a deadly attack occurs. Then, Chubb and Whitaker go on the offensive in an attempt to stop the Moral Authority from causing chaos. Soon Batman arrives on the scene and tries to put an end to the conflict while protecting someone important. Finally, an unexpected event occurs that will shake Gotham City to its core.

The Story: Ridley provides another excellent chapter in this explosive story arc. I like the way he boldly tackles the issues of class and police overreach. There are so many parallels between Gotham in the Fear State and the current times. Especially in the rise of armed militia groups and an obviously biased government system. Also, on a relationship level, the conflict between Jace and Tanya parallels that of many family members whose different viewpoints are alienating. The chilling cliff hanger ending is very compelling, and I am excited to find out what happens next.

The Art: This beautifully done issue features bold colors set in modern drawings. The action scenes are explosive and eye-catching. And the attention to detail that permeate the illustrations are emotionally engaging and transportive.
