Steven Spielberg will return as executive producer of the new series along with Sam Register, Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank. Amblin will produce the series in association with Warner Brothers Animation. “I am so pleased and proud that Animaniacs will have a home at Hulu,” Spielberg said. “Together with Warner Brothers, we look to bring new audiences and longtime fans into this wild world of Yakko, Wakko and Dot.” The deal will also include exclusive streaming rights to the original 99 episodes of Animaniacs as well as the spin-off series Pinky and the Brain. The deal also includes the entire series of Tiny Toon Adventures, which might signal another potential reboot series in the future.

The original Animaniacs series became an incredibly popular series for both children and adults, winning multiple Daytime Emmy Awards during its initial run. No word yet on whether the original voice actors who inhabited the roles, Rob Paulsen (Yakko), Jess Harnell (Wakko) and Tress MacNeille (Dot), will be returning for the new series.

Animaniacs is slated to premiere on the Hulu streaming service in 2020.
