According to their reporting, the upcoming series will not move forward at the network. Led by Naomi Watts, the series was supposed to take place in what is known as the “Age of Heroes” with the first battle between humanity and the White Walkers. The pilot starred Watts alongside Miranda Richardson, Joshua Whitehouse, Marquis Rodrigez and more.
Showrunner Jane Goldman is said to have emailed the cast about the decision. HBO had no comment. The news comes the day after Game of Thrones television series creators Dan Weiss and David Benioff announced that they were leaving the upcoming Star Wars trilogy of films they were to write.
