Ray Bradbury is considered one of the most well-known and well-loved science fiction writers in the history of the genre. His novels have been translated into several languages and millions of copies of his work have been sold all over the world.

HBO is set to bring one of the author’s most popular stories to life on the screen with an adaptation of the 1953 dystopian novel Fahrenheit 451. HBO is also bringing in an all-star cast for the film as well. The adaptation will be written and directed by 99 Homes director Ramin Bahrani. It will star Michael Shannon (Man of Steel), Michael B. Jordan (Black Panther) and Sofia Boutella (The Mummy).

In a future where books are considered the enemy and free thinking is a crime, Jordan plays Montag. A young “fireman”, a person tasked with burning any books found, who decides to forsake his world and regain his humanity. Standing in his way is his mentor Beatty (Shannon). Boutella is signed on to play the female lead Clarisse, an informant caught between the interests of Montag and Beatty.

Michael B. Jordan will also serve as Executive Producer through his Outlier Productions company.
