The Rundown: Harley and Ivy face off against Keepsake while Kevin flees a burning building.

The story begins Then, in a time where Dr. Harlene Quinzel worked in Arkham Asylum. Harley then waxes reminiscent regarding her past. In the present, Harley and Poison Ivy flee from their enemies. Later, Keepsake catches up to them and a battle commences. Afterwards, the duo meets up with some old friends. Later, Harley and her friends decide how to proceed.

Meanwhile, at S.A.F.E. Headquarters, Kevin attempts a rescue and makes a difficult decision. He soon finds himself in a precarious situation, but is quickly aided by Sam. Finally, the two make their way free of danger.

The Story: This chapter is a direct tie in with Catwoman #37 and takes place directly after those events. And while the bulk of the story is fast paced and action packed, I most enjoyed the smaller scenes that were filled with character building content. Kevin’s journey to becoming a better man is realized in a quietly brilliant way and I feel like his reward for his new life is a budding friendship. Then, there are the Gotham City Sirens. I’m such a fan of Harley and Ivy’s love story. And it warms my heart to see Harley’s growth as a human being. I’m excited to see what new adventure awaits this group.

The Art: The art in this issue features a youthful and energetic styling filled with high octane action sequences. I found this approach to visual storytelling perfectly suited the dizzying vibe of Harley Quinn, and it drew me further into the world of the tale.
