The Rundown: Curtis must infiltrate his old job to get something he needs, but his crusade will put others at risk.

In the aftermath of their confrontation, Alva continues to spin the narrative that he isn’t responsible for the big bang as the police continue to hunt for Curtis. While the police and FBI begin to search the building, Curtis corners an old friend who knows that he is being framed, but is concerned for his safety. Curtis tells her that there is something in Alva’s office that he needs and he has no plans on leaving until he gets it. Evans decides that the best way to get him where he needs to be is to distract their boss. A feat that could put her in danger as well.

After barely escaping from the building, Hardware finds himself on the run. Unfortunately, the damage to his suit causes some collateral damage in the form of an injured child when the police go at him hard. In the aftermath, Hardware goes to see someone from his past and makes a decision that will require him to leave Dakota.

The Story: Thomas crafts an exciting and emotional story in this issue. Not only is the story filled with tension and great action, but there is a heart to it that keeps me engaged throughout. There are some great action beats and the contrast between Curtis’ story and that of Deke was brilliantly done. I like the tone of this story a lot and the ending makes me excited for what comes next.

The Art: Cowan does a brilliant job with the art in the issue. There is a beautiful, noir like quality to the visuals and every page has something interesting to see.
