After Disney made the decision to fire director James Gunn ten days ago after old Tweets the director apologized for years ago were unearthed, many of the cast members of the previous films expressed their disappointment and downright anger at Disney’s decision.

Well it looks like the cast is coming together as a group to fight to have the director reinstated. The more vocal members of the cast like Dave Bautista (Drax) and Gunn’s brother Sean (Kraglin) have expressed their desire to have James Gunn return while the rest of the cast took a more measured approach to their support for the director, but today the cast released a letter in support of James Gunn and emphasizing their positive relationship with him and his evolution in personal character.

Chris Pratt commented on his Instagram feed regarding posting the letter, which all of the cast members have;

“Although I don’t support James Gunn’s inappropriate jokes from years ago, he is a good man,” Pratt wrote Monday. “I’d personally love to see him reinstated as director of Volume 3. If you please, read the following statement- signed by our entire cast.”

Disney has not commented on the letter so far, but a petition to have Gunn reinstated has garnered over 300,000 signatures and with the entire cast calling for the director to be reinstated, expect a response from the company to come sooner rather than later.
