The Rundown: The kids get used to living in the big city and Pheobe’s finds herself at the heart of a new mystery.

The new Ghostbusters continue to do their work in the city as they find themselves hunting a dangerous spirit in an art museum. In the aftermath, Callie is concerned that she is losing time with the kids when they both quickly scatter after the mission with Trevor planning time with Lucky while Phoebe deals with the uncomfortable celebrity of being a teen Ghostbuster.
After making a new friend at school named Sammy, Phoebe invites them to Ray’s bookstore to hang out. A run in with some school bullies and the introduction of a strange object from Sammy leads to the release of the ghost of the infamous Captain Kidd who plans to make the city his own again.
The Story: David M. Booher crafts a fun adventure in this first issue. I love that the story has equal parts humor and heart as Callie and Gary deal with being parents of kids that are branching out on their own while Trevor and Pheobe work to craft lives of their own outside of being Ghostbusters. I also enjoy having the action and thrills I want from a Ghostbusters story while also setting the stage for a bigger challenge to come.
The Art: Aviv Or crafts some beautiful art in the issue. The visual style of the story is perfect for the themes and tone of both the story itself and the world of the Ghostbusters.
