The Rundown: Demona discovers another young gargoyle forged in tragedy as she creates a bigger threat to all her kind.

It’s 1093 and Demona flies through the night until she comes upon another clan of gargoyles including a young one who is enamored by her. At the same time, a young prince prepares to leave with his siblings for England to continue his studies. As political enemies gather against his father, the young prince and their caravan brings them to the gargoyles daytime resting place.

After destroying the gargoyles in their stone forms, the caravan continues until they are attacked by enemies. As night falls, Demona awakens, discovers the destruction and goes after the king and his survivors. As the king falls to her blade, Demona returns to find a lone survivor who she decides to take under her wing.

The Story: I love returning to the world of Gargoyles and I am consistently impressed with the world Weisman creates for these characters as well as expanding the lore of the characters, especially Demona. I love seeing the progression of the characters while the clan slept and this story teases some interesting character development for Demona. I cannot wait to see where this story goes next.

The Art: Paur crafts some beautifully detailed art throughout the issue. I love the character designs and the visual style of the story.
