Deron GenerallyIn the wake of the success of both Logan and Deadpool for Fox, the long in development solo outing for the mutant Gambit is taking a step back and starting over.
According to the film’s star in an interview with HeyUGuys, Channing Tatum revealed that the Gambit movie is starting from scratch. He stated in the interview that the production problems with the film allowed Logan and Deadpool to go forward and that the success of both movies has given the producers the confidence to try new things with the Gambit script and story.
“We got hit with some setbacks and it was all for a good reason. We were trying to do something completely different. We were trying to do something that this genre of movie hasn’t seen before. We kept running into the same problems, and then Deadpool and Logan came through and kicked the doors down.” he said.
The film has gone through a couple of directors as well, the last being Doug Liman, but Tatum is confident that the Gambit movie will not only be made, but that it will be something new and innovative that fans were not expecting.
