The Rundown: A group of war heroes must find a way to maintain peace on a planet freed by revolution.

Planet Aides has gone through a period of war. A war for independence from the opposing forces who fought to claim the planet and its resources. In the aftermath, Commander Gracchon gives an address to the people of the planet announcing a new peacekeeping force of heroes to protect the planet as it and its people deal with their newfound independence.
As the Freedom Guard deal with the new planet called Lutheria, they find things more difficult than they imagined as they try to protect the population as it goes through the growing pains of a new government. Things become even more tenuous when someone close to them becomes the victim of a deadly crime.
The Story: There is a lot of world building in this first issue. Sitterson spends a good amount of the story introducing the reader to the characters and conflicts within this story and I appreciate that. There is a lot happening, but the story is structured in a way to immerse you in the world of this series and the personal and political drama affecting the characters.
The Art: Dougherty creates some beautifully detailed and visually immersive art throughout the issue.
