The Rundown: Lucky has a plan to get the cats somewhere safe, but the location is covered by the infected.

In a rare moment of peace, the kittens find themselves protected by and able to play with Lucky’s canine friend Moosh. Their mother Gigi is still worried about the kids while Lucky is concerned about her injured eye. As they get to know each other, Lucky tells her about his relationship with Moosh as well as showing her and the other cats a closed pet supply store in town. A store surrounded by infected animals.
At the same time, Elise gets a visit from Lord as she contemplates what they’ve been through and Gigi tries to reason with Chloe who seems to still be brainwashed after their last encounter. While Moosh takes on more infected to protect the kittens, Elsie comes up with a plan that could get them into the supply store and relatively safe.
The Story: Fleecs takes the time to slow down the relentless action to spend time developing the characters which is a smart move. I like how the characters of Lucky and Moosh are showing the changes in the character’s we’ve been following. There is more introspection from Elsie, more independence from Lord and a level of protective confidence in Gigi that is beautiful to see. All of these characters are being changed in both subtle and obvious ways and I love to see it.
The Art: Forstner and Rodriguez deliver stellar art throughout the issue. The visual style remains one of my favorite elements of this story and this series.
