The Future Foundation continues its journey through the multiverse with Franklin creating new and different worlds for the group to explore. After finishing their latest mission to an ice world, the group decides to bed down and enjoy the new additions to the multiverse that they contributed to. It gives Reed and Sue the chance to slow down and enjoy some time together.
The lull doesn’t last long when they decide the next day to move forward and Franklin finds that his ability to create new worlds is on the fritz. Dragon Man tells him and his concerned parents that his powers are intact, but the intervention of a new threat by the name of The Griever at the End of All Things puts the Richards clan and the Future Foundation crew on the run. After finding out that the Griever has been undoing everything Franklin has been building, Valeria decides to land the group and Reed comes up with an idea that not only reunites the Fantastic Four, but also a few more familiar faces ready to fight.
I really liked this issue. I enjoyed the way the characters were depicted and how they interacted with each other. I liked the small moments between Sue and the kids as well as the moments she and Reed share alone. It goes a long way towards reminding the reader why the relationship between these characters endures. Slott has some great dialogue in this issue and the ending is absolutely memorable for how clever it is.
Pichelli’s art is amazing. I loved how the characters looked as well as how the action was done. The story moved seamlessly across the panels and the composition of the action scenes gave the story some great dramatic emphasis. Really interested to see where this story goes next.
