The first series from the MCU The Falcon and Winter Soldier, was expected to feature the return of Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan as the title characters and expand the multi-billion dollar Marvel Cinematic Universe to the streaming service.

According to multiple sources, with production being suspended in March because of coronavirus concerns, it looks like the series will miss its expected August premiere. The series also stars Daniel Bruhl, Emily VanCamp and Wyatt Russell and takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame.

Speaking about the characters’ returns and the expansion of the MCU, series star Sebastian Stan said; “These characters are getting so much more mileage for all of us to explore them. We can put them in situations that we’ve never been able to put them in before because you now have six hours as opposed to two.”

There’s currently no news on when the production will complete the first season or a new release date.
