The Rundown: The Eternals battle the Avengers while Thanos prepares to make his final move.

While attempting to get information from the ghost of a dead Celestial, the Eternals find themselves battling the Avengers while Thanos prepares to give his final death blow to Earth. Thanos makes the final step into the mind of his father to get the information he needs to become whole again and discovers that there is something new about him that makes his plans and purpose change as a result.

After activating a doomsday machine that will wipe out the Earth, Thanos prepares to escape. When the Eternals learn of what is happening, they abandon their fight and travel back to stop the Mad Titan before he can escape. What follows are some massive revelations about the nature of the Deviants, the crowning of a new Prime Eternal and the Eternals themselves being given a dark new purpose.

The Story: Gillen brings this arc to a satisfying and entertaining completion with a story that changes several of the characters along the way. The action was thrilling. The revelations are intriguing and engaging. The way that the characters are effected by what they discover makes me interested in what happens next. Gillen brings everything to an intriguing finale that will have some interesting consequences for more Marvel characters.

The Art: Ribic delivers some great art filled with action, visual thrills and a wonderful style that is engaging.
