The Rundown: Stephen Strange will find a new way to go after Wrecker and his magical weapon, but the villain will not be acting alone.

After barely surviving his encounter with Wrecker and his amplified crowbar, Strange makes his way to his Mystic Forge to craft a weapon that will counter the effects of Wrecker’s. While he crafts a weapon of his own, the questions about where Wrecker got his and who is paying him continue to plague the good doctor.

After returning to the hospital and a tense meeting with a former friend and fellow student of the Ancient One acting as his boss at the hospital, an explosion gets Strange’s attention and he prepares to battle Wrecker, but unfortunately the villain is not alone.

The Story: A great follow up to the first issue. Mark Waid showcases the traits that make Doctor Strange so unique and interesting as a hero and the new dynamics he faces as a surgeon and sorcerer make the stories more engaging. The plot unfolds brilliantly with Strange knowing both his strengths and limitations and crafting the tools he needs to cater to both. The mysteries at the heart of the story continue to be compelling and what isn’t shown keeps my interest peaked. I love the final panels of this issue and what they could mean going forward.

The Art: Kev Walker delivers some awesome art in this issue. The action looks amazing and Walker makes excellent use of the panels to move the story along and expand visually on Doctor Strange’s world.
