Deron GenerallyWith movies and television series going back into production, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is set to continue its expansion with a new series on streaming service Disney Plus.
According to an exclusive from Deadline, Marvel Studios has tapped director Kat Coiro to executive produce and direct several episodes of the upcoming live action She-Hulk series for Disney Plus. Rick and Morty writer Jessica Gao is running the writer’s room for the series.
She-Hulk is attorney Jennifer Walters who, after receiving an emergency blood transfusion from her cousin Bruce Banner aka The Hulk, receives the powers of the Hulk but still retains her intellect and personality. Actor Mark Ruffalo, who plays Banner/Hulk in the MCU, has teased the possibility of his appearance on an upcoming She-Hulk series. No actress has been cast in the lead role at the time of this story.
Kat Coiro is known for directing several television series episodes including Dead To Me, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Shameless, Modern Family and Brooklyn Nine-Nine among others. Her next feature Marry Me, starring Jennifer Lopez, Owen Wilson and Sarah Silverman, is set to open next year on Valentine’s Day.

September 15, 2020 - 2:30 pmI’m just not sure how this is going to work. Either it’s going to be Ferrigno-style, which is going to suck, or it’s going to be “lots of talk, not much action” to save money. Unless they somehow have the money to do a frequent CGI She-Hulk.

September 15, 2020 - 3:16 pmWith the amount of productions including video games frequently using motion capture for actors, I don’t think it’s going to be as expensive as it was maybe 10-15 years ago. Also considering the deep pockets Disney has, they can spring for some believable CGI

September 15, 2020 - 4:33 pmDifferent companies. Warner Brothers decided to lower budgets on their productions because they had losses in their film departments. Disney has been trending up with their productions so they have more money to spend on them and other things.
