The Rundown: Batman and his team attempt to regroup, but the vampire threat hits close to home.
With the cave destroyed and the Justice League hunting them, Batman and the others find themselves at a hidden base where they can tend to their injuries and work on the next part of their plan. Unfortunately, their meeting is interrupted by the arrival of a pair of former allies and the revelation of a hidden threat rooted in betrayal.
At the same time, Batgirl teams up with what’s left of the Suicide Squad to discover that their main suspect for the king of vampires was a red herring as they fight for their lives against their own. In the aftermath, the king of vampires emerges and begins the next stage of his plan to take over the world.
The Story: Rosenberg and Tynion IV take the story to some dark and intriguing places in this issue. There is an immediacy to the plot that is good, but takes away a lot of the tension that has building in the series. I like the story a lot and the series has been interesting for its action and plot development, but this felt rushed in both its pacing and revelations.
The Art: Schmidt and Di Nicuolo deliver some great art in the issue. The action is thrilling, fun and scary throughout.
