DC Fandome was an ambitious and ultimately successful endeavor to bring fans in from all over the world to see and hear about what is coming from some of their favorite heroes in the worlds of gaming, movies, television and comics. Because of its size and offerings, DC made the decision to split the virtual event in two. This past weekend, DC Fandome: Explore the Multiverse streamed online and here are some of our favorite announcements and reveals from the world of DC Comics Television.

Doom Patrol Season 3

HBO Max has exclusively ordered critically acclaimed Max Original Doom Patrol for a third season. According to Sarah Aubrey, head of original content, HBO Max. “The series sits well in our portfolio and we are glad to greenlight a third season to continue this distinctive style of storytelling that resonates so well with critics and fans alike.”

Doom Patrol executive producer Jeremy Carver said: “On behalf of the wonderful cast, writers and crew, we are thrilled and grateful for the opportunity to return to Doom Manor. And we are especially thankful for our partners at Berlanti Productions, Warner Bros. Television, DC UNIVERSE and, of course, HBO Max.”

With another DC Universe series moving to HBO Max exclusively, it looks like the current iteration of the DC Universe streaming service might be coming to an end.

Seasons one and two are currently available on HBO Max.

Pennyworth Season 2

At the Pennyworth panel, it was revealed that the series would have some new additions in its sophomore season. The series follows the adventures of Alfred Pennyworth as he works for young billionaire Thomas Wayne. The series stars Jack Bannon as Alfred, Ben Aldridge as Thomas Wayne and Emma Paetz as Martha Kane.

According to Pennyworth creator and executive producer Bruno Heller, the second season of the series will find that Martha Kane will be pregnant. Thomas and Martha are the future parents of a certain bat-themed vigilante. There is no confirmation that the child is the future Bruce Wayne. Also joining the cast for season 2 will be the character of Lucius Fox. No casting information regarding Fox has been released.

Pennyworth currently airs on EPIX.

Superman and Lois

The Man of Steel returns to television in a new series coming to the CW’s Arrowverse. Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch reprise the roles they started on Supergirl in the new series from executive producers Greg Berlanti, Todd Helbing, Sarah Schecter and Geoff Johns. The two leads of the series and Helbing joined Jim lee in discussing what fans can expect from the first season.

According to Helbing, Lois and Clark will move back to Smallville following a personal tragedy and the pair will find their lives challenged by being both professional journalists and parents to twin teenage boys. There will also be romantic tension in the series as Clark’s first love Lana Lang is part of the series and her teenage daughter threatens to come between the twin sons.

In addition to the new additions to the series and the story, Helbing also revealed that Superman will be getting a new suit in this series.

Superman and Lois will premiere on The CW in January 2021.
