The Rundown: Ma and the crew make their decision, but the danger increases when they discover something dark,

After learning about the bold plan that one of her crew proposes, Ma runs the scenario through in her head. Finding a way to justify it to herself on behalf of the women working with her, Ma agrees but only if everything is planned out. Once the plan is in place and the initial fear subsides, Ma and her crew begin their plan.

A plan that will bring her and the crew through a growing wildfire, scared and dangerous animals on the run and potential for being spotted before they make their destination. When they do, the time it takes to get the information they need will lead them to explore the house. A house that holds more secrets than they imagined. Some of them being darker than they feared.

The Story: Snyder continues to build great tension in this story with characters who are both dynamic and mysterious and a mystery that is compelling. The tone of the story is perfect and I love how each issue has a narrative tone that lulls you in before revealing the danger the characters face.

The Art: Sherman delivers some beautifully immersive visuals throughout the issue. The art makes the reader feel a part of the group as they trek through the woods. A wonderful, visual way to engage the reader.
