The Rundown: Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman infiltrate the crisis worlds, but find they are not what they remember.

As the fight rages on, the remaining heroes begin their assaults with the Lanterns taking out Perpetua’s antennas, the speedsters racing against the Batman Who Laughs and the Trinity making their way to Earths in the midst of The Crisis On Infinite Earths, Final Crisis and Infinite Crisis. What they find will be dark versions of those events where the heroes of those worlds lost everything.

Batman must fight against nothingness in the form of the Anti-Monitor. Superman must face Darkseid and his army of twisted heroes and Diana will face off against Superboy Prime who wants to create a world of heroes who inspire hope. Diana will try to convince the former hero that there is a deeper truth to what he wants, but the heroes will discover that Perpetua is the least of their problems.

The Story: Scott Snyder once again bring the reader on an emotional journey as every victory has a darkness connected to it. The writing is brilliant and all of the character interactions are fantastically done. Snyder allows for some humor as well with the Sgt. Rock moment in the beginning, but the dark storyline not only manages to reveal more about these characters, but still allows for a small glimmer of hope to remain. Even in the face of that ominous cliffhanger.

The Art: Greg Capullo delivers some beautiful, inspiring art in this issue. Both Darkseid and Superboy Prime are visually menacing and every page is filled with gorgeously detailed imagery.
