The Rundown: A band of heroes heads to Europe to rescue Tony Stark, but their journey is just as dangerous and their destination.

The X-Men have converted a helicarrier into a refugee ship in order to rescue those displaced by the catastrophe that happened on Earth. As the refugee ship lands off the coast of Africa, Ororo goes to meet her husband T’Challa. When Pepper and a delegation of heroes come to shore seeking Black Panther’s help, the king takes them aboard to enlist Nick Fury’s help to rescue Tony and the others working for Apocalypse.

As the heroes say good-bye to their loved ones, they head off to Europe and the unknown threat of Apocalypse. As Doom prepares them for the next part of their plan, Peter is surprised both by an unexpected passenger and a light on the horizon. A light belonging to a threat they hoped to not face on the open seas. As the heroes fight for their lives, their battle is interrupted by a bigger threat from beneath the seas. One with a familiar face leading it into battle.

The Story: Taylor hits it out of the park with this issue. Even without having the biggest threat in the issue, Taylor makes the looming battle one filled with tension. The character relationships and dynamics continue to be engaging throughout and the story isn’t afraid to take some thematic and character risks. I really enjoyed the pacing of the story and the surprises within it make me excited for what comes next.

The Art: Iban Coello delivers some exciting, beautifully detailed art on every page of this issue. Not only do the characters have visually striking moments, but the action is exciting.
