The Rundown: Jerri Barnes is going to learn there’s more to being Count Crowley than drunkenly introducing B movies.

After completing her first show as the new Count Crowley, a drunken Jerri’s run in (literally) with an actual werewolf will lead her to a new investigation. With her personal life continuing to spiral out of control, her professional life is getting a boost from her appearance on the show. Something her brother is happy about. Unfortunately, his happiness is tempered when the police come calling about Jerri’s late night drunken exploits.

An investigation into her predecessor will take the reluctant host into a world of darkness when she encounters another real monster coming for her.

The Story: The second issue of this series does a brilliant job of building on the momentum of the first. Jerri continues to be delightfully screwed up and Dastmalchian moves her through the story from moment to moment with a fun, casual ease that allows the reader to engage with her and her numerous but amusing flaws. The story is fun and well plotted. The dialogue is fun and Dastmalchian has created a fun and intriguing cast of characters along with a plot filled with twists and turns that make me want to find out what happens next.

The Art: Lukas Ketner offers some brilliant art in this issue. His style is perfectly suited for this type of story and the art has a beautiful blend of detailed characters and a classic horror comic style.
