Carol’s fight against Black Panther was tough, but she wasn’t expecting him to have backup in the form of She-Hulk. Fighting Jen puts Carol immediately on the defensive and she is unsure how to stop her friend before Vox Supreme detonates another bomb.

Captain Marvel has to employ a potentially devastating tactic to stop her friend and the potential damage could change her relationship with her forever. To make matters worse, Vox Supreme wants the rest of the Avengers for its experiments and this will force Carol to face the one adversary she’s been afraid to take on; Captain America.

The Story: Thompson brings this issue to life with awesome action and thrills. Carol continues to plot as best she can and it is interesting to see her working with a proverbial gun to her head from Vox Supreme. What makes the story more satisfying is the fact that she has come up with strategies about how she would take on all of her friends, but the one person she is actually afraid to face down is Cap. I love the dynamic between these two characters and Kelly Thompson does a great job of subverting my expectations when the two characters finally meet face to face.

The Art: Lee Garbett delivers some amazing visuals in this issue. The action is big, bold and well executed. The intimate story moments are filled with detailed expressions from the characters and the art perfectly complements the tone and pace of the story.
