As the new All-Father laments having to clean snow off the mountain, Carol strikes.

Both heroes battle across the planet as Thor tries to understand why his friend and teammate is trying to kill him. Unfortunately for him, he’s not going to get the answers he seeks and his trying to help Carol will be a tragic mistake.

The Story: One of the best aspects of this story is its immediacy. It happens and doesn’t take unnecessary time explaining what it going on. That immediacy allows the story to unfold with a pace that draws in the reader and engages while you try to decipher what is going on and why. Kelly Thompson does an excellent job of crafting a story that is constantly in motion, but allows for the characters to shine. Carol’s inner dialogue is fantastic and I loved seeing she and Thor go toe to toe. Not only was the story engaging, but the conclusion actually caught me by surprise.

The Art: Lee Garbett delivered some beautiful art in this issue. With the story focused on these two characters, the art makes both characters look amazing. The action is brilliantly rendered and every panel is filled with beautiful details.
