Even the Slayer has nightmares.

Buffy is finding life as the Slayer as difficult as always and laments the fact that everyone else seems to have their lives together. Her mother seems happy and in typical teenage fashion, she is not a fan of her mom’s boyfriend. After having a nightmare where she wasn’t able to be there when her friends needed her, Buffy goes to Giles to find out what her next move is.

The Watcher is not in the mood to just give Buffy the answer and wants her to put in some effort to learn what she needs to. When they are interrupted by Cordelia, the world of Sunnydale High floods back in with Willow and Rose being there for each other, Buffy makes a new friend during gym and Cordelia runs into Spike in the woods.

Anya has her own problems to deal with as Drusilla thinks torturing her will get her the information that she needs. Knowing that Anya can’t be killed, Drusilla goes after the things in her shop. Unfortunately, she unleashes something that is going to become a particular problem for the vampires of Sunnydale.

Jordie Bellaire captures all the wit, charm and fun of the series in this issue. All of the characters and dialogue are on point and perfect for the characters. I also really enjoyed the plotting of this issue and the reveal of who’s narrating it is a welcome and interesting surprise. All of the character introductions are handled beautifully and I am intrigued with where this story is going.

Dan Mora’s art is amazing. The visuals are great and all of the characters looks fantastic.
