The Rundown: As Tim’s trial comes to an end, the forces allied against him must choose a path.

In a dark future, Tim Hunter rules over everything with dark magic and the three kids from his school, now adults, band together with help from John Constantine to oppose Tim and stop him before he grows powerful. To do this, they use dark magic to influence their younger selves to take up the fight and kill Tim in the past.

Tim continues to stand trial for his part is the attack on the Cold Flame. With a huge secret about Dr. Rose finally revealed, Tim makes a statement that changes everything about the trial itself and could send the young wizard on a path that no one expected.

The Story: David Barnett does a really good job of bringing this story to a satisfying end. Tim is written with a tremendous capacity for growth and evolution. Something that makes his story compelling and interesting. The rest of the characters do an excellent job of bringing different perspectives to the story and it is gratifying to see one of them cut through all the dogma and find a solution that starts a new and potentially interesting chapter for Tim going forward.

The Art: Tom Fowler does some excellent work with the art in the issue. The characters and panels are drawn brilliantly and Fowler does an excellent job of progressing the story and giving emotional weight to everything with the detailed characters.
