The Rundown: Booster Gold and Blue Beetle battle a new enemy and attempt to secure financing for their endeavors.

Omnizon appears outside the United Nations Headquarters in New York and makes a stunning declaration. She then causes massive destruction to the area. Across town, Booster Gold is turned down for a rental property. He then contacts Ted. Before they can have a much needed conversation, Booster notices something unusual and rushes to investigate. When Booster arrives at the U.N. Headquarters, he meets Omnizon, and she reveals her identity and background. The two then engage in battle. Soon Blue Beetle arrives to provide aide. Afterwards, the two meet Trixie Collins and she offers them office space. The group then devise a surprising solution for their current financial situation. Elsewhere, Omnizon makes new plans.

The Story: In this chapter, Jurgens delivers another humorous and entertaining adventure of Booster Gold and Blue Beetle. Booster’s constant used of social media is both a blessing and a curse for the duo. For one, the commentary itself is pure comedy. But it also shows the power of fandom. Booster and Blue are continually criticized, yet their fans are also a lifeline for them. I really appreciate the way this series takes an honest look at the effects that stardom may have on its heroes. This episode also introduces a new villain with an interesting history. And I am interested to see how this character will develop in future episodes. I’m a fan of this series and I’m excited to find out how this plotline will progress.

The Art: This is a colorful issue filled with well done action sequences. The attention to detail does a good job in capturing the character’s personalities and moods. I found myself completely immersed in the world of the story.
