The Rundown: Natasha and her team need to find a cure for Lucy and bring Apogee down for good.

With an unresponsive Yelena’s life in the balance, Natasha must fight and focus if she has any chance of saving her. Utilizing her skills and the tech of her new suit, Natasha fights back and Lucy comes in with a last minute save to help Yelena.

After escaping from the powered thugs, Natasha and her team regroup at their base where Nat enlists the help of the scientist she liberated from Apogee. After showing him the effects of the serum on human subjects, he goes to work trying to find a cure. At the same time, Natasha, Yelena and Anya infiltrate the next Apogee meeting to stop the leader from mass infecting his followers. A prospect that is easier said than done when the leader reveals something surprising.

The Story: Thompson brings some brilliant plot elements to this issue. Natasha’s fight to focus on her mission being interrupted with the thought of things she’s lost is brilliantly placed. The moments between Craig and Lucy are great and add some additional humanity to the story. The banter between Natasha and Yelena continues to be entertaining and endearing. I enjoy how introspective the story gets without forgetting the adventure. There is a great balance of humor, heart and intensity throughout.

The Art: Casagrande and De Latorre bring beautiful imagery throughout this issue. The action is beautifully done and dazzles the eye. The character moments are visually engaging and wonderfully detailed.
