The Rundown: The heroes of Rockwood find themselves in an unusual new world.

In a manor house in the past, Abraham and Gail are preparing to receive guests for dinner. Just outside the house, Talky-Walky and Madame Dragonfly take a moment to themselves before going in to an awkward dinner where the relationships between these characters are drastically altered. The only one who seems to feel that something is wrong is Randall, but he is unable to articulate his feelings as things get decidedly stranger by the minute.

Things take a turn towards the weird when the scene shifts to a deep space station where the same people have taken on different roles with Randall still being the odd man out and the insanity of the situation continues to grow.

The Story: Tamaki delivers a brilliantly surreal character study in this issue. The circumstances are bizarre and the plot leans into it with cheer and sense of discovery. This was a great story that moved in ways that were unexpected, but decidedly welcome. I was impressed with the dialogue and the character interactions especially as the tone kept a consistent level of strangeness throughout.

The Art: Diego Olortegui delivers some stunning imagery throughout the issue. I love the visual style and the details throughout the issue. Every panel had something to catch the eye and the art was incredibly immersive.
