The Rundown: Black Cat uses the distraction of the heroes to pull off a daring heist, but finds herself within their midst at a critical moment.

Felicia Hardy has seen it all before. An alien invasion of Earth gives her the best opportunity to steal from an abandoned SHIELD money cache, but when the aliens interrupt her score, she finds herself on the surface and in the midst of the fight to save the city. Fighting alongside Captain America and the X-Men, Black Cat has no doubt that the heroes will prevail, but when one falls, those doubts increase.

In the aftermath of the battle, Black Cat escapes and regroups with her crew. With Captain America’s last words echoing in her mind, she decides that the best way she can help is to pull off a job on the most dangerous being on the planet, Knull himself. To do that she needs help from someone with a knowledge of symbiotes because she is about to pull off the biggest job of her life and steal something that might just save them all.

The Story: Jed MacKay delivers an entertaining, character focused story with this issue. The story doesn’t try to remake Black Cat into someone she isn’t. It plays to her strengths and personality in ways that the reader can appreciate. The narration does a great job of showing how interesting a character Felicia Hardy is and both her motivations and personality make the story more interesting. The cliffhanger ending does a great job of teasing some big things to come.

The Art: C.F. Villa delivers some stunning art in this issue. The imagery is beautifully detailed and full of great action. A great looking issue from start to finish that does an awesome job of showcasing the heroes from Black Cat’s perspective.
