The Rundown: The Birds must turn to a recent enemy to find information on the Shadow Army’s next plan.

Inque has offered to join the Birds with information on the Shadow Army and their next plan. One that will require the team to break into smaller units to infiltrate multiple locations at once if Barda doesn’t kill Inque first. Reluctantly, the team takes on Inque after hearing her story and the group begins to make plans to take down the Shadow Army.
After breaking into smaller groups, the team finds that there is something more dangerous at play. After retrieving something the army was planning on unleashing, they return to base to begin to test it in the only way that they can given the circumstances.
The Story: Thompson crafts a fun, bold and thrilling story in this issue. I love the interpersonal conflict between the characters and how they still manage to be there for each other even when they are in conflict. I love the roster of characters as well and even though the story takes some turns I wasn’t expecting, it brings everything back to an engaging cliffhanger that makes me want to read more.
The Art: Richards and Basri deliver some beautiful art throughout the issue. I love the visual style of the issue and the character designs a lot. The action is visually thrilling throughout.
