The Rundown: Four new stories showcase the heroes of Gotham and their trials.

Cheer

Batman is captured by Cheer and Mr. Freeze leaving Jason to find him before time runs out. Thinking back to his time as Robin, Jason questions whether or not he has the investigative skills to save Bruce. At the same time, Batman becomes the latest test subject for a new form of Cheerdrops.

A great story from Zdarsky that raises the stakes for both characters and gives a great spotlight on Jason and his doubts.

Wildcard

Spoiler and Orphan have taken over Wayne Manor and find themselves enjoying an evening of entertainment when Oracle calls them in for a mission. As they head out into the city to find the elusive person leaving red cards as a calling card behind, the pair find themselves brought into a bigger mystery where the person they’re seeking might not be the villain they suspect.

A good short that does a great job of introducing a new character that could definitely find a place with Barbara and the others.

Sum Of Our Parts

Tim Drake’s investigation into his missing friend will force him to confront how he’s treating the people in his life and what he is outside of being Robin. When Tim teams up with a detective to investigate the missing teenagers in the city, he decides that going undercover will be the best way to find answers.

A good short story that does a great job of showcasing Tim.

The Long Con

Grifter is on the outs with Lucius and his way back in will require him to betray everyone.

Rosenberg brings this story to a satisfying conclusion. It’s well done and fun both in its dialogue and reveals. It’s definitely one that is worth reading because saying more about it would spoil it for the reader.
