The Rundown: Five stories tell of tales that will lead up to City of Bane.

He Helps Us features a man being invited into a commune of individuals who have all turned to a healer that can help him with all of his problems. When the healer turns out to be Psycho Pirate, the old man reveals that he is not what he seems.

Alone pits Batman against The Riddler with the Dark Knight following clues to defuse bombs placed in different locations throughout the city. As Riddler is analyzed by a shrink for this latest caper, a series of clues throughout the story answer the riddle of why Nygma plays these games at all.

In Doctor of Psychiatric Medicine, Hugo Strange has taken men of different kinds and connected them all to a death trap to try and discern the type of psychological makeup necessary to escape like Batman. Thus, learning the type of man Batman truly is.

Alethaphobia will find Bane on a rampage through a South American gang as he looks for the reporter who once interviewed him when he was a young inmate as Santa Prisca. Batman is on the hunt as well to find out why and the answer has to do with the one secret Bane will kill to keep.

The Story: Each story is unique and interesting in its own way. Not one of them felt like a waste and each one gave a unique perspective on that villain’s relationship with Batman and their own motivations. Alone was definitely a stand out story because it combined great pace and storytelling with an actual mystery for the reader to solve. Well done by all.

The Art: The art styles varied along with the stories and each artist brought something unique to their story that was fun to experience.
