The Rundown: Gotham’s latest Dark Knight starts digging into her mother’s past and will discover some things she might not want to know.

The daughter of Batman and Catwoman takes to the streets of Gotham to get some answers from the worst of the criminal underworld and that kind of journey always starts with Penguin. After getting the information that she needs, she proceeds to make her way through the underworld to discover just what was the relationship between her mother and Joker.

In the past, Selina wakes up to find herself in familiar surroundings. Surroundings that call to Bruce’s past. As she finds herself in the presence of the Phantasm, the relationship between Bruce and Selina continues to gray under the weight of her secrets.

The Story: King continues to impress with a story that focuses on the both the ghosts of Bruce’s past and the difficulties inherent in his relationship with Selina. The dialogue is fantastic. The characters are dynamic and engaging. The plot is dense, mature and nuanced in ways that keep me interested in every angle, twist and turn the story takes. I cannot wait to see where this story goes next.

The Art: Clay Mann delivers some beautifully detailed art in this issue. Not only are the characters dynamic and filled with energy, but the camera angles in the panels and their progression do an amazing job of keeping the reader engaged in the tone and pace of the story.
