The Rundown: The final showdown with Ras Al Ghul will change the Outsiders forever.

With his plan thwarted, Batman and the Outsiders move in to stop Ras and his minions. Unfortunately, the Demon’s Head is more powerful than they thought and he has decided that his target is going to be Jefferson Pierce.

After confronting the hero, Ras Al Ghul gives Jefferson the opportunity to join him in creating a new world on the ashes of the old. With the rest of the team engaged in battle, it is up to Black Lightning to stop the threat of Ras, but that decision will mean more for Jefferson’s future as a hero than he could possibly know.

The Story: Bryan Hill brings everything to a tipping point for the team in this finale. The fact that this issue focuses on Jefferson and Orphan gives a hint to where the story is going next. Putting Black Lightning in the crosshairs of Ras Al Ghul is an interesting idea and moves the character away from the fringes giving him the opportunity to be front and center with the rest of the heroes. It’s going to be interesting to see where the story goes next after Bruce’s announcement at the end.

The Art: Dexter Soy delivers some delightfully detailed and brilliantly big art in this issue. The action is great, but there are some amazing shots that showcase both power sets from Black Lightning and Ras. A great looking issue from start to finish.
