Batman confronts Sofia about her time with Ra’s and the angry young woman’s loss prompts Bruce give her the choice he never got when it comes to her future.

At the same time, Black Lightning is missing and Katana gathers the rest of the team to help them process what’s happening and give them clarity going forward. Jefferson had teamed with Lady Shiva and traveled overseas to find a woman who recently had a doomsday weapon Ra’s has taken control of. As they confront her, they find that she is the target of Ra’s assassins and a confrontation with Kaliber.

The Story: Hill brings all the elements of a spy thriller to this issue and the plot is both well done and entertaining. Taking Jefferson down a darker path does a great job of building up the philosophical and operational differences between he and Batman. The issue also does a great job of showing where the loyalty of this team is heading. There are some great character moments throughout and the subtlety of the emotions at play is perfect for these characters and the work they are doing. The cliffhanger ending was thrilling and I want to see where the story goes next.

The Art: Dexter Soy knows how to make these characters both dynamic and stunning. The angles used in the panels showcase moments full of tension as well as vibrant action. A great looking issue filled with awesome details and thrilling action.
