The Rundown: Batman faces a monster from his past as Robin races to save him.

Trapped beneath the city, Batman and an ally from his training days are at the mercy of the monstrous Memento as Robin helps a group of kids escape the depths before returning to help. Batman continues to see visions of the Wayne murders as the creature waits for Robin to return to complete its final vision. A vision Batman reveals along with the identity of the host behind the creature.

As Batman continues to work on his binds, Robin arrives to take on the creature. As the two battle, Batman manages to find a way to escape and help while a mysterious figure emerges to land the final blow on the creature and stop its plans before disaster strikes the city.

The Story: Johnson crafts a thrilling conclusion to this arc filled with great suspense and action. It brings together many elements that make this team work and the story has some great moments for both characters. I enjoyed the reveals as well as the mystery left at the end of the story.

The Art: All of the artists deliver beautiful imagery throughout the issue. There are some great hero shots to behold as well as wonderfully dark and engaging atmosphere.
