The final battle with the Final Host is underway and around the galaxy everyone and everything is preparing for the worst. As the prospect of the destruction of the Earth continues to loom, Odin laments that there is nothing that he can do. At the same time, the Avengers refuse to give up. They utilize everything that they can muster to try and stop the rampaging Celestials while also fighting off the invading horde insects. As the odds continue to stack against Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, it becomes more apparent that Loki might have been right all along and that might be the key to their victory.

As the heroes continue to press the attack on both fronts, they find themselves outnumbered. Things continue to look grim for the heroes and the ripple effect of their battle can be felt throughout the universe on a scale they never thought of. In order to save the Earth, they Avengers have to take some pretty drastic steps and Ghost Rider might hold the key to their survival, but can they collectively unlock the secret behind the Final Host in time?

Jason Aaron delivers an exciting conclusion to the final host storyline. He manages to deliver enough information throughout the issue to move the story forward while also keeping the reader in suspense almost up to the last possible moment. I’ve really enjoyed this arc from its origins to its execution and Aaron doesn’t disappoint in delivering great character interactions as well as tense action. I really want to see where Aaron takes this Avengers team and Loki’s reaction at the end was awesome in what it could mean going forward.

The art is spectacular. I love the contrast and complementary styles of McGuinness and Medina. Both of them are able to bring such rich detail and visuals to every page and the colors make everything more vibrant and eye-catching.
