The Rundown: The Avengers travel to the past to protect a hero who isn’t as helpless as they think.

The Avengers are in Japan to protect that era’s Ghost Rider from the forces of Mephisto. As Cap and Nighthawk find themselves discovered by the Ghost Ronin, he reveals he’s not there to fight them as assassins emerge and try to take him down.

After dispatching the killers, the Ghost Ronin finds himself taking on other threats alone while Namor deals with his past with the Phoenix and Thor finds a way to distract himself from having to deal with Jane trying to get him to open up about his connection to the Phoenix as well.

The Story: There are times when a comic conveys a feeling and times when a comic imparts information and moves a story along. There are also times when a story is just cool. This is one of those times. Aaron crafts a really cool story in this issue and connects it to a real cool character in the form of the Ghost Ronin. I love that the Avengers find themselves not needed and witness the characters strength and wisdom first hand. I would love to see more of this character in the future.

The Art: Garron delivers some beautifully detailed and stunning art throughout the issue. The action is thrilling and draws you in visually.
