The moon god Khonshu has been preparing for a million years for this moment and has no plans on stopping his plan to save the universe from the threat of Mephisto. Even if that means sidelining Earth’s heroes and taking their powers for himself. As different versions of Mephisto make their way to Earth, Khonshu must take them on by himself as his Fist searches for more power.

Moon Knight has tracked Iron Man and Captain Marvel down and wants to take the power of the Starbrand from the baby they are protecting. When he confronts Tony, he tells him something that will make him doubt their mission as the rest of the Avengers track down their teammates and fight to set them free.

The Story: Jason Aaron infuses this issue with a lot of action as well as some interesting and engaging philosophical themes. As the Avengers fight to rescue their teammates and take on Khonshu, the moon god himself is actively trying to save the universe. The story engages the reader to ask who is right and who is wrong by not having Khonshu and Moon Knight act like typical bad guys. The reader is put into the position of asking if the ends justify the means as the threat of Mephisto continues to grow despite Khonshu’s actions. This is a well done issue that has broader and deeper meaning for all the characters, especially Iron Man.

The Art: Javier Garron delivers some great visual moments throughout and there are some really fun moments between Iron Man and the baby that made me smile. The action is great and I was blown away by the last few pages.
