Apple is making the move into providing original content and the tech company has enlisted A list talent for multiple projects. Yesterday it was announced that Apple has tapped entertainment company A24 to produce a series of original films for Apple.

Not much is known about what kind of films that the studio will provide with the multiyear deal, but A24 is known for a wide variety of film genres with titles like Moonlight, Lady Bird, Hereditary, It Comes At Night and more.

Besides new films, Apple is moving into scripted series with huge stars attached including Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, Steve Carell, Octavia Spencer and more. There is a reboot of Steven Spielberg’s anthology series Amazing Stories being developed along with a new drama starring Aquaman’s Jason Mamoa and a new psychological thriller from M Night Shyamalan.

This announcement continues to fuel speculation that the tech giant is developing a subscription service to compete with Netflix and others.
