Anne Rice's 'Vampire Chronicles' Is Coming to TV

Anne Rice has partnered with a studio to bring her iconic Vampire Chronicles series of books to television.

It was announced Paramount TV is partnering with the author to bring her eleven Vampire Chronicles novels to life for television with a partnership between Paramount and Anonymous Content. The company behind series like True Detective and The Knick. Rice will also keep the series in the family by bringing on her son Christopher Rice to both write and Executive Produce the series along with Rice. Christopher Rice is himself a four-time New York Times bestselling author. According to Rice’s statement:

“I’m thrilled beyond words to be working with Paramount TV and Anonymous Content —known for extraordinary cutting edge series such as True Detective, Quarry and The Knick,” Anne Rice said. “In this unique golden age of television, I couldn’t ask for a finer or more passionate team to help bring my beloved vampire hero, Lestat, alive in a series of the highest quality. This is a dream come true, both for me and for Christopher and for the fans who have been asking to see the Brat Prince in this medium for years.”

So far, no network has been announced.
