Deron GenerallyOne of the best sketch comedy shows in the history of television is getting a new life with the return of the original cast.
According to The Hollywood Reporter and Variety, after 25 years, the Canadian sketch comedy series The Kids in the Hall is returning with new episodes on Amazon Prime Video.
The five members of the comedy troupe Dave Foley, Bruce McCulloch, Kevin McDonald, Mark McKinney and Scott Thompson will rejoin with executive producer Lorne Michaels for a new season of the series that ran from 1988-1995 in both Canada and the United States. Michaels commented on the series return stating; “Even after 30 years, The Kids in the Hall has retained its brilliance and originality,” Michaels said. “We are happy to be bringing back all of the original Kids for the new series.”
According to THR, the new Kids in the Hall series will be the first Canadian original series for Amazon’s Prime Video streaming platform. No premiere date has been set.
