The Rundown: With his son in danger, Cruz must make the dangerous journey back to Epsilon Station.

Gabriel Cruz can’t sleep and when his night is interrupted by someone he knows from his previous job, he discovers something is terribly wrong on Epsilon Station. After discovering that his son stole his credentials to get on board, the company gives Gabe the chance to make things right. As he contemplates the mission, Gabe knows something is off and wants answers. He’s given a choice and that choice does not include saving his son.

With no choice, Gabe returns to Epsilon with two soldiers in tow. Soldiers who have no idea what they’re getting themselves into. After seeing the carnage left behind after the aliens escaped, Gabe has to find a sample to bring back, but he also will not leave until he finds his son. Unfortunately, the subject he is tasked with retrieving has already escaped.

The Story: Johnson doesn’t waste any time getting into the action in this issue. The human drama is done really well and the pace of the story is great. Cruz is an interesting character and his story is better explored here. The dynamic of having him come to the station with dual motives adds some great dramatic tension and conflict to the plot.

The Art: Larroca delivers some great visuals throughout the issue. The shadows and dark corners add to the tension of the story and the reveals are perfectly placed.
