The Rundown: Superman takes action to end a standoff and Lois discovers betrayal in the fortress of solitude.

Lois finds herself in the fight of her life as the escaped prisoners of Warworld lay siege to the fortress with murder on their minds. Lois will find an unexpected ally in Thao-La. Unfortunately, a tragic event will make that alliance short lived as the refugee turns on Lois. At the same time, Superman stands between the military and the Atlanteans as both sides prepare for war. When the posturing leads to violence, Superman does something that stuns everyone.

In a move that will change everything between Superman and Aquaman, Clark takes action to end the conflict. Action that even his son and cousin thinks might have gone too far. When Jon can’t hear anything from the fortress, the three race back only to find a scene of death and betrayal.

The Story: Johnson crafts an entertaining story in this issue. The action is great throughout and I enjoyed seeing Clark do something unexpected and potentially dangerous. The focus on the political standoff continues to be more compelling than the Warworld storyline, but Thao-La does have some intriguing character moments worth exploring. Her conflict is interesting and I’m intrigued to see where it goes next.

The Art: Christian Duce delivers some beautiful art throughout the issue. There are so many dynamic action moments that were thrilling to see. A great looking issue.
