The Rundown: The House of Kent makes their final push against the Invisible Mafia.

With the power of the Invisible Mafia crumbling and Leone making wild allegations against Lois Lane, the House of Kent gathers to bring down Red Cloud once and for all. Kara moves in to help Clark while the Superboys and Brainiac 5 work on a way to both stop Red Cloud and contain her powers. It will come down a choice for the former reporter turned supervillain when Clark presents her with a dark alternative if she doesn’t surrender.

With the FBI still investigating the Daily Planet, Lois has some questions to answer and Leone sends a message to her former protégé. A letter that tells the young woman some bitter truths about their relationship and what Leone plans to do if ever confronted by her again. At the same time, Clark is called back to the Planet to meet the paper’s new owner.

The Story: Brian Michael Bendis brings this storyline to a conclusion that leaves as many plot holes still open as resolved. The takedown of Red Cloud happens way too fast for a character that was being set up as a significant threat to Superman. Even the takedown itself was unsatisfying. Everything with the Invisible Mafia is left hanging and Bendis introduced a huge plot point last issue that is barely mentioned in the next.

The Art: John Romita Jr delivers some interesting and creative art in this issue, but there are some graphical flaws that were too big to ignore. There are some perspective issues that are obvious whenever Superman and his family are standing near each other. The other issues are characters in the same scene that look so much like each other that you cannot distinguish which character you’re looking at.
