The Rundown: Superman continues to chase Leviathan as Lex makes more offers.

One of the only witnesses to see Leviathan and get an idea of what he wants is Rose and she is not the most stable witness. When Leviathan sends men to check out her place, they are surprised when she returns after dismissing Leviathan’s offer to join. Superman finds her violently declining the offer and witnesses the kind of power that Leviathan soldiers have at their disposal.

Perry grills both Clark and Goode about their separate Leviathan based stories and as he contemplates teaming them up to follow the story, Goode gets a visit from Lex Luthor with an interesting offer.

The Story: Leviathan  continues to be an interesting threat to both Superman and the intelligence community of the DC universe. Everything else aside, Bendis has kept me interested in this aspect of the story and how it relates to his Event Leviathan series. At the same time, Goode as a character is waning in my interest both in her motivations and her presence. It looks like the next issue will give more insight into who she is and what her motivations are. Hopefully, that will get me back on board with her part of the story.

This issue does a great job of continuing the mystery of Leviathan while also adding new layers to the mysterious organization and its leader. There’s more to this than we see as a reader and that makes it interesting. I liked Lex’s presence in this issue, but he really only became relevant when he made his last offer. I’m interested to see where this story goes next and how it informs the events to come.

The Art: Szymon Kudranski delivers some great art in this issue. The characters look great and the art does a brilliant job of keeping pace with the story and its tone.
